SUNDAY SCHOOL
9:45am Sunday mornings
Our Christian Education for young people pre k – Grade 8 is based on the belief that children benefit from worshiping with the community of believers as well as learning about Christ’s love for them.
Our Christian Education for young people pre k – Grade 8 is based on the belief that children benefit from worshiping with the community of believers as well as learning about Christ’s love for them.
Our unique program combines time in worship (including a children’s message) with hands-on Bible learning in a class setting. Artwork, dancing, drumming, and wood-working, are among the activities children have done in the past. We utilize not only people from our community of faith but local artists as well. Every 5 weeks, we conclude our learning segment with a Family Sunday, where children and families are invited to participate in worship in leadership roles.
Jr. High to Sr. School Youth are invited to participate in our Wednesday “Kids in Church and Community” gathering that includes a meal and a Bible study at 5:30pm.
A more intensive Bible-based group is offered the 1st and 4th Sundays of each month from 11:00am to 1:00pm.
Adult Education :
Our Bible study meets 9:00am Saturday mornings. New Bible Study Schedule:
We just started a new book in our study from Augsburg Adult Bible Studies titled: “New Creation in Christ: Ezekiel and The New Testament."
Here’s an excerpt that talks about the purpose of the study: "This study will explore the new life that God has created and promises to bring to completion through Jesus Christ. The sessions will look at four texts from Ezekiel in which God declares the healing of sinful rebellion. God accomplishes this in Jesus’ death and resurrection, as presented in texts from Luke. Finally, from readings in Acts and Ephesians, we learn more about the shape of this new life that God has created and given to the church."
Anyone is welcome to attend. We meet on Saturdays at 9:00am in the Fireside Room at Minnehaha Communion Lutheran.
Questions? Please call Roxanne Dunlop at 612-724-3002.
Kids in Church and Community
Kids in Church & Community meet at 5:00pm every Wednesday. This is for youth and adults. Join us for a meal, Bible study, and conversation.

Minnehaha Food Shelf
The number of persons who are coming to us for assistance has greatly increased in the past six months. As a result, our food shelf needs:
* Financial donations to allow us to purchase food (tax deductible)
* Donations of non-perishable food
* Daytime volunteers to pick up food from Second Harvest
DID YOU KNOW: There has been a surge in need at the Minnehaha Food Shelf this fall. Last year we served fewer than 150 households per month. Now we serve more than 260 households per month.
Most of our clients are seniors or families with working parents. When families struggle with hunger, the greatest impact is upon the children. People coming back from duty in Iraq are showing up at the food shelf. Minnesota ranks in the top ten states that have the poorest seniors. Some seniors share what food they get with neighbors. If pregnant teens don’t get enough food, they risk giving birth to pre-term babies with health problems.
Food is so basic. It’s a moral issue.
You can make a difference! Make your tax –deductible donation to: Minnehaha Food Shelf. The Minnehaha Food Shelf is located at Minnehaha United Methodist Church at 3701 E. 50 St. 612-721-6231.
